The magnificent 948 year old Chichester Cathedral is a living church with a spire that dominates the horizon for miles around.
Step into iconic moments of English history: the Roman market city of Chichester; King Henry VIII’s Dissolution of the Monasteries (1530s); the Civil War and siege of Chichester (1642) and much more. At Chichester Cathedral medieval stone carvings sit alongside world famous contemporary works of art from the likes of Graham Sutherland, Marc Chagall and Ursula Benker-Schirmer - to name but a few. There’s something for everyone to discover!
Groups of any size are invited to explore the Cathedral. Groups of 6 or over are asked to pre-book so that we can make sure the Cathedral is available for your visit, whether that be self-guided or with one of our expert Guides. Please note that there is a booking charge for groups.
While we strive to extend a warm welcome to all visitors at the Cathedral, we might not always be able to accommodate unreserved groups. Please check any disruptions to visiting here.
