What is happening? As part of our transition to becoming a registered charity under the Cathedrals Measure 2021, the Cathedral’s statutes and constitution have recently been reviewed and updated. We now have new versions of both that we want to share with you for your comments.
Why is it important? These are important legal documents which set out how the Cathedral is governed.
What has happened so far? We have gathered detailed feedback on the proposed new statues and constitution from the Cathedral Chapter, the Bishop of Chichester, the Cathedral Council and from the Church of England’s legal advisers... to name a few! We are now interested in hearing from you!
Why now? We are in the process of registering the Cathedral as a charity, with the UK Charity Commission. To successfully register, we need to review our statutes and constitution.
How can I help? Please take the time to review the proposed new documents.

Alternatively, you can get a printed copy from the Vergers’ Office or from the Visitor Experience Assistants, based in the Porch at the West Doors.
