In Holy Week we invite you to join us on a journey that follows the events of Jesus’ last days: his triumphal entry into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday; his humility and servitude at the Last Supper; his passion and crucifixion on Good Friday; and finally his glorious Easter resurrection.
All are invited to attend services at Chichester Cathedral, in-person and streamed online. There is no need to book for these services.

Monday 11th, Tuesday 12th & Wednesday 13th April8.00pm - Holy Week Compline A service of quietness and reflection before rest at the end of the day. Sung by the Cathedral Choir. |
Thursday 14th April | Maundy Thursday7.00pm - The Liturgy of Maundy Thursday (also live-streamed) This service commemorates the Last Supper, the institution of the Eucharist, and recalls Jesus’ supreme example of service – washing the feet of his disciples. The service will end with a silent vigil of prayer in the Lady Chapel until 10.00pm. With music sung by the Cathedral Choir. |
Friday 15th April | Good Friday9.30am - The Easter Story: A Service for Children and Young Families We follow in the footsteps of Jesus from Palm Sunday to Good Friday, pausing at different places in the Cathedral to remember the path to Calvary that Jesus followed. The service will end with Hot Cross Buns. 12.00pm - Three Hours’ Devotion (also live-streamed) The Dean of Chichester, The Very Reverend Stephen Waine, leads a sequence of reflections on the Passion story. From 1.30pm, the Cathedral Choir sings the account of the trial and crucifixion of Jesus in The Liturgy of the Passion, and we are invited to pray before the cross. |
Sunday 17th April | Easter DayThe simplicity of Lent is replaced with colour, flowers, magnificent hymns, choral music, and Alleluias. We celebrate Jesus’ resurrection from the dead in the following services:
