It is with a sense of deep sadness that we have learnt of the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
As we absorb this news, we do so with thanksgiving to God for her self-giving devotion, her steadfast Christian faith and service.
During this period of national mourning, the Cathedral is open to visitors daily (9.00am – 7.00pm). All are welcome to attend our schedule of services>>.

We invite you to use the following prayer:
Majestic God,
whose throne is in heaven,
whose footstool is the earth;
we thank you for your servant, Elizabeth,
your faithful servant,
our beloved Queen.
As we mourn her passing
we give thanks for her witness
of devoted service,
unfailing wisdom,
compassionate generosity,
and faithful dedication
and pray that we may embrace her values
and build your kingdom
today and always.
Amen.

Lay flowers
Paradise, the green space within the Cathedral’s 600 year-old Cloisters, has been set aside as a space of reflection and for those who wish to lay flowers in memory. We kindly ask that non-organic material or wrapping is removed before laying.
Pray, reflect and light a candle
You can contribute your own prayers, reflections and drawings to our display in the Northern Aisle. There are opportunities for you to light candles in the Nave, Lady Chapel and Chapel of St Clement. Prayers will be said hourly, and Day Chaplains are available for those who wish to speak to someone.
