Florist Caroline DainesWe are delighted to reveal Caroline Daines as the Designer for our highly anticipated Festival of Flowers 2026.

This biennial event, which draws thousands of visitors, transforms the cathedral’s majestic 950-year-old spaces into a breath-taking celebration of floral artistry and creativity.

Caroline, founder of the acclaimed Sussex-based floral design studio Nordic Twigs, brings with her a wealth of experience and a unique creative vision. Inspired by her Swedish roots and the rolling landscapes of West Sussex where she has lived for nearly 15 years, Caroline’s work combines Nordic simplicity with Britain’s rich, eclectic heritage. Her floral creations are renowned for their natural elegance, seasonal abundance, and ability to evoke the beauty of the great outdoors.

Speaking about her appointment as Designer, Caroline said:

"I was absolutely thrilled to be approached for the role of Designer for Chichester Cathedral’s Festival of Flowers in 2026. It’s a privilege to contribute to such a historic and inspiring place, and I’m excited to weave a story through flowers and foliage that will enchant visitors from near and far. This opportunity to fill the Cathedral with nature’s beauty and creativity feels truly special.”

A major fundraising event for the Chichester Cathedral Restoration & Development Trust, the Festival of Flowers has raised over £2.5million towards preserving the historic place of worship since its inception.

The Dean of Chichester, the Very Reverend Dr Edward Dowler, said:

"The Festival of Flowers is a much-loved tradition, showcasing the talents of floral designers from across Sussex and the dedication of our wonderful volunteers. Caroline's style, experience and passion for creating floral arrangements promises to make the 2026 Festival an extraordinary experience for all who visit. Together with the expertise of our Festival Chair, Hilary Tupper, and the enthusiastic support of our community, we are confident that the Festival will be a resounding success and continue to raise vital funds for our Cathedral."
