The Chapter of Chichester Cathedral are delighted to announce the appointment of Amy Sim as Communar and Chief Operating Officer (COO).
Amy has served the cathedral for eight years, most recently as Interim Communar, and Head of Operations. With close to two decades of experience in hospitality, accommodation, and visitor experience Amy has a track record of driving positive operational change – having previously worked for Continuum Attractions, Antic London, and Fuller, Smith and Turner in London and the Southeast.
Amy has previously served as a Director for the Chichester Improvement District (BID), supporting local businesses in the city, and now sits on the board for UKHarvest, a leading environmental and social impact charity dedicated to preventing food waste and food insecurity.
Speaking of her appointment, Amy said:
"I am excited to step into the role of Communar and Chief Operating Officer at Chichester Cathedral. The cathedral is a cherished place of worship, welcome, and heritage at the heart of the city, and it is a privilege to serve our remarkable community. I look forward to working closely with our dedicated staff, volunteers, and congregations, as well as our valued partners across Chichester, to ensure that the cathedral continues to flourish as a place of inspiration and hospitality."
The Dean of Chichester, the Very Reverend Dr Edward Dowler, said:
"Amy has been a vital part of the cathedral team for many years, and the Chapter and I are delighted to welcome her into this key leadership role. Her deep understanding of the cathedral’s life and mission, alongside her expertise in operations and visitor experience, will be invaluable as we continue to serve both our worshipping community, the wider city and our diocese. I look forward to working with Amy as we build on the cathedral’s rich heritage and look to the future, celebrating our 950th anniversary this year."
