Why Attend?

This service is not just a celebration of Thanksgiving; it is a moment to reflect on the shared history and enduring friendship between our communities. The service will be led by The Reverend Dr. Zachary Giuliano from Christ Church, Oxford.

We also plan to have some interesting artefacts from the Cathedral’s Library from our knowledgeable and dedicated library volunteers.

Whether you are attending to honour your American heritage, to learn more about the unique ties between Chichester and the United States, or simply to enjoy a beautiful service in our historic Cathedral, we hope you will join us for this special occasion.

We plan to hold a Thanksgiving Evensong Gathering of American friends and families every November, building up to a historic and memorable celebration in 2026 of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

Please contact Jake Parke at jake.parke@chichestercathedral.org.uk if you’d like to find out more.
