January
From January - March 2021 over 900 hot meals were delivered to older and vulnerable people in Chichester, through an initiative called the Friday Lunch Club. The project was developed by the Sussex Pub Group, in collaboration with Chichester Cathedral and Pallant House Gallery. February Chichester Cathedral’s hugely popular lunchtime concert series returned after a silence of almost a year, streamed exclusively online for audiences at home. March
The Chichester Peregrines returned to nest on the Spire of Chichester Cathedral. Three eggs hatched in the summer, observed by over 60,000 viewers online. (Image: Paul Loader) April
A temporary floral installation of lilies is unveiled during Holy Week, remebering those impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and lives lost. The installation was located within the Mary Magdalene Chapel, in front of Graham Sutherland's Noli Me Tangere , created 60 years ago. (Image: Daniel Boss) May
A new audio/visual live-stream system is installed in the Cathedral by specialists ChurchStream. From March 2020 the Cathedral has established a regular schedule of live-streamed services, enabling their community (wheresoever they may be) to join an act of worship. June
A new Cycle Route will link all 42 Church of England cathedrals in a new initiative to promote greener travel and mental and physical wellbeing. To launch the initiative, a group of cyclists completed the route. July
The Choir rehearse at Winchester Cathedral, prior to a special recording of the Southern Cathedral's Festival. After a turbulent 15 months, which saw choral singing brought to an abrupt halt across the country, the annual Festival was digitally transformed for 2021, with the concert peremiering online for the first time in its 70 year history. August
The Treasury Suites welcomed their first guests in 2021. Located just off the Cathedral’s Cloisters, these spacious and sensitively restored suites are furnished with a large bed, large smart-TV, a fridge and a sofa in the seating area. (Image: Ash Mills) September
In September, the Cathedral warmly welcomed two new Residentiary Canons. The Reverend Vanessa Baron is the Cathedral's the new Canon Treasurer and the Reverend Dr Jack Dunn is Canon Precentor. Vanessa and Jack were installed at the Cathedral at a service of Choral Evensong. October
Over 50,000 people visited Luke Jerram's Museum of the Moon , which exhibited at the Cathedral for three weeks from October. Presented alongside the exhibition was a programme of events and activities, including talks from the South Downs Planetarium to a Silent Disco for children and families. (Image: Jakub Bors) November

Following the announcement that girls will be invited to audition to become Choristers from the next academic year, the Choir sing at a Carol Service underneath The Chichester Nativity art installation.
