We have made a number of changes to ensure that you can join us safely for public worship. Please ensure you read the information below before attending.
Upon arrival, you will be asked to provide your name and contact details. This is in order to support the NHS Track and Trace system.
We ask for you to 'check in' to the Cathedral by scanning the site QR code with the NHS Test & Trace smartphone app. If you are unable to check in with the app, you can fill in a slip provided at our Test & Trace stand in the Cathedral Baptistry.
Because of our current reduced capacity while we continue a level of social distancing, we ask those attending Sunday Eucharist to reserve their seats using our online booking system to avoid disappointment on the day. This will also help us to continue to support the NHS Test and Trace system while it is still operational.
For those unable to use the booking system, places have been allocated for those arriving without advance reservation.
Entry
Worshippers are asked to queue at the Cathedral’s West Door, adhering to social distance recommendations. Routing into the Cathedral for worship will follow the existing system; entrance via West door and South aisle, exit via North aisle and out of the West door. This route will be continually monitored to ensure everyone’s safety.
The Service
Although Covid-19 restrictions have been officially lifted, for the time being we have retained some of the recent changes made to our services in response to the pandemic. These changes include:
- Communion will be brought to worshippers by the presiding clergy
- We ask that you take your Orders of Service away with you at the end of a service, and dispose of them responsibly.
- Prayer books will not be provided.
- Although not mandatory, we request that face coverings continue to be worn throughout the service.
General
Please remember that Chichester Cathedral remains open Monday - Saturday (10.00am - 4.00pm) and Sunday (12.00 - 2.00pm).
When visiting, please follow the Government’s guidance, which includes:
- Please wear a mask
- If you or a member of your household is unwell stay at home
- Practice social distancing (at least 2 metres)
- Avoid unnecessary contact
- Follow specific Government Guidance for the over 70s/the clinically vulnerable.
