Biographies
Duncan Honeybourne enjoys a diverse profile as a pianist and in music education. Following his concerto debuts at Symphony Hall, Birmingham, and the National Concert Hall, Dublin, he made recital debuts in London, Paris, and at international festivals in Belgium and Switzerland. Commended for his "gripping performances" (The Times), "glittering performances" (International Piano) and "great technical facility and unfailing imagination" (Musical Opinion), Duncan has toured extensively as a soloist and chamber musician, broadcasting frequently on BBC Radio 3 and radio networks worldwide. His many recordings reflect his long-held association with 20th and 21st century British piano music. He teaches at the Royal Academy of Music Junior Academy and the University of Southampton.
Robert Eckett Holmes is a freelance bassoonist living and working in Hampshire and surrounding counties. Rob is principal bassoonist in Nova Foresta Classica Players and as well as playing for many ensembles and orchestras across Hampshire, Rob also teaches the bassoon at Twyford Prep School, St Swithun’s School and at Salisbury Area Young Musicians. Having started his career as an Air Traffic Controller for NATS, retirement has allowed him to pursue his love of music and the bassoon.
Anna Durance is an oboist, educator and producer. She is one of the founding members of Workers Union Ensemble and the Reigate Wind Quintet. She plays regularly with Goldfield Ensemble and has appeared on NMC Records and BBC Radio 3. Recent playing projects include a week with the BBC Symphony Orchestra, an artist residency with Turner Sims and the Third Orchestra and the release of her EP 'Taking Flight' which features two newly commissioned works. Anna was a DYCP (Arts Council funding) recipient in 2021-22. Anna is the director of PLAYLIST (soplaylist.com) – a mixed-genre, artist-led night, which brings exceptional performers into unexpected spaces in Southampton away from the concert hall.
