Daniel Emson-Jukes started playing the bassoon at the age of 12 in South Wales, studying with Robert Codd before moving to London to study at Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Whilst at GSMD he studied with Graham Sheen, Meyrick Alexander and Robin O'Neill, and his college quintet reached the final of the Ivan Sutton Chamber Music Prize. Since leaving college, Daniel has had lessons with Sarah Burnett and Daniel Jemison. He is now a freelance orchestral musician, and has performed with orchestras such as BBC Symphony Orchestra and RTE Symphony Orchestra. He is also a keen chamber musician and performs regularly with several ensembles, including playing at the opening concert of the ISO Spring Festival in Malta 2015. Daniel also occasionally performs as a soloist, including a performance of Mozart's Bassoon Concerto with the Welsh Philharmonic Orchestra, and solo recitals in the South East and Malta.
Gemma Emson-Jukes began playing the flute at the age of 10 in Aldridge, West Midlands. She studied at Birmingham Conservatoire Junior Department with Colin Liley and Jonathan Rimmer, where she won the Concerto Prize. Gemma went on to study at GSMD with Philippa Davies, Sarah Newbold and Ian Clarke, and has since had lessons with Sharon Williams and Michael Cox. Gemma won the GSMD Needlemakers Woodwind Competition and the Albert Cooper International Flute Competition during her postgraduate year. She is now a freelance orchestral musician, and has performed with orchestras such as BBC National Orchestra of Wales, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and Southern Sinfonia. Gemma is also an active chamber musician, performing in various ensembles across the south east of England and at the opening of the ISO Spring Festival in Malta 2015. Gemma has also performed as a soloist at the Stratford-upon-Avon Music Festival, and in venues in Surrey and Malta.
