“…excellently played recital… alluringly sweet-toned.”  The Sunday Times was quick to realise the special qualities of the Parnassian Ensemble following the release of their album A Noble Entertainment, a compendium of the finest music from Queen Anne’s London.

Since then, the Ensemble has enjoyed a busy and varied concert schedule, including appearances at The Purcell Room; St John’s, Smith Square; St James’s, Piccadilly; St David’s Hall, Cardiff and the Fairfield Hall, Croydon amongst many others.

In addition to its specialist skills in seventeenth and early eighteenth century recorder music, audiences have been delighted by its adventurous programming, which has featured works by modern composers alongside those by baroque masters. The group has also commissioned new music, specially composed with their talents in mind, from Steve Marshall.

The Parnassian Ensemble was invited to teach at the Grieg Academy in Bergen, Norway, where it gave early music classes, coaching sessions and individual instrumental tuition. A highlight of its visit was appearing in a harbour-side former wine warehouse, a rare all-wooden building from the sixteenth century, as part of the Antikk Musikk concerts series.
