Musician Biographies
Winner of the Royal Over-Seas League Strings Competition, violinist Emmanuel Bach has performed at Queen Elizabeth Hall, Wigmore Hall, De Montfort Hall, St Martin-in-the-Fields and St James Piccadilly. He has performed as a co-soloist with Anne-Sophie Mutter, been heard on BBC Radio 3 and is a former Countess of Munster Trust Recital Artist. Maxim Vengerov described his playing of the Brahms Concerto as ‘a superb rendition...a very deep and emotional performance.’ He has performed at festivals in the UK, Europe, South Africa and USA, touring South Africa several times. He is supported by Talent Unlimited. He read Music at Magdalen College, Oxford, studying with Natasha Boyarsky, then studied at the Royal College of Music, latterly with Radu Blidar. He also studied with Dr Felix Andrievsky.
South-African-born pianist Jenny Stern has recorded for radio and television in Europe and her home country. She studied at the Royal College of Music with Lamar Crowson, then completed a Masters in South Africa, winning the prestigious Emma Smith Overseas Scholarship for further study. She has performed extensively in the UK and abroad, collaborating with distinguished musicians. In South Africa, major performances include concerti with all the major South African orchestras, including acclaimed live broadcasts of Rachmaninoff and Grieg. She has been invited to give masterclasses at venues including Dartington Summer School of Music and Euro Music Academy in Vienna. She has given over 500 concerts and workshops at universities and schools. She teaches at Eton College and the Royal College of Music, Junior Department.

Chichester Cathedral's Lunchtime Concert series is self-supporting, and thrives through the generosity of its audiences. While there is no charge for admission, we suggest a minimum donation of £3 per person, with Gift Aid applied if possible. Donations can be made in the retiring collection, in the Cathedral, at our Visitor’s Desk or at various donation points, using cash, card and contactless or using the button below.
