In high summer we are all drawn to the sea, and the Chichester Singers concert in the Cathedral on Sat June 17th 2023 celebrates this, with ‘Songs of the Sea’ and ‘Songs of the Fleet’ by the great late 19th century English composer Stanford together with ‘A Drop of Nelson’s Blood’ by contemporary composer Ian Assersohn. Ian’s work is based on rollicking traditional sea shanties, with all the vibrant energy and fun they entail, and the choir will be joined for this concert by internationally-renowned baritone Gareth Brynmor John as soloist.
