The Cathedral Carol Service

A service of readings and carols celebrating the Christmas story.

All are welcome to the Cathedral Carol Service, a celebration of Christmas in a service of lessons, congregational carols and music sung by the Cathedral Choir.

There are four opportunities to attend this year's Carol Service:

  • Thursday 19th December at 6.00pm
  • Friday 20th December at 6.00pm
  • Saturday 21st December at 6.00pm (also livestreamed)
  • Sunday 22nd December at 3.00pm

Doors will open one hour before each service. This service has a duration of approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Who can attend a service at the Cathedral?

Everyone is welcome to attend services at Chichester Cathedral. For many, this may be their first time visiting the Cathedral. We look forward to meeting you very soon!

Do I need a ticket for this service?

No booking required - general seating available on a first-come, first-served basis. Doors will open one hour before each service.

Access and facilities
  • Toilet facilities are available in the Cathedral (including an accessible toilet with changing facilities). 
  • Ramps throughout the Cathedral allow step-free access.
  • A hearing loop system is available.
  • There are a limited number of Accessible parking spaces situated on the approach to the Cathedral via West Street. These spaces can be used free of charge provided the vehicle is displaying a blue badge. For further information on Accessible parking in Chichester please click here.

  • Guide, Therapy and Assistance Dogs are welcome in the Cathedral for services.
