In 2016, the Bishop of Chichester, the Right Revd Dr Martin Warner, conducted a Visitation of Chichester Cathedral.
The aim of the Visitation was to enable the Bishop to gain an overview of the Cathedral's worship and mission. Though all diocesan bishops are entitled to carry out a Visitation, not all take the opportunity to do so. But in a rapidly changing culture, which brings daily more challenges for the Church, Bishop Martin felt that carrying out an in-depth review of the life of the Cathedral would throw new light on the ways it can serve both its immediate community and the wider community of the church in Sussex.
The Visitation was carried out by an esteemed panel of people on behalf of the Bishop, – comprising Pim Baxter OBE, The Revd Canon Dr Simon Jones and Dr Richard Mantle OBE DL.
The findings of the Visitation were delivered in the form of a Charge – a document containing the full results and recommendations from the Visitation. The full Charge and its summary are available by clicking on the buttons below.
